Eastern Iowa Health Center to celebrate National Health Center Week August 9th
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Eastern Iowa Health Center (EIHC) is celebrating National Health Center Week -- with a Community Block Party -- this year. Right now, they are getting ready to hold that block party at the Wellington Height Campus in the 1200 block of 4th Avenue Southeast. That event is being held there Friday, August 9th.
City leaders break ground on new mixed-use development in downtown Ely
ELY, Iowa — A new mixed-use development is coming to the City of Ely. It's called "Main Street Legacy". City leaders broke ground Monday afternoon for the $7 million project. The project calls for both housing and storefronts on the corner of Dows Street and Main Street in the downtown area.

Cascade proposes security cameras in parks following costly vandalism
CASCADE, Iowa (KCRG) - Security cameras could be coming to certain public parks in Cascade later this summer. Dubuque Museum Grabs $10K Iowa Tourism Grant
Great news for the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque. They've just received a $10,000 grant from the Iowa Tourism Office, which is part of the Iowa Economic Development Authority. This money will help fund a special digital marketing campaign in Illinois and Wisconsin during the summer of 2024.
Wahlert Advances….Western Dubuque Falls At State Softball Tournament
In the Class 3A quarterfinals last night the #3 Wahlert Golden Eagles used a walk off home run by Julia Roth in the bottom of the 8th inning to defeat #7 ranked Sumner Fredricksburg 9-8. Wahlert (30-10) advances to the state semi-finals and will play Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 and meet #2 (31-12) Williamsburg.
Man Arrested For Break-In And Assault
A Dubuque man was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with breaking into a home and severely injuring another man. Dubuque Police say 29 year old James Stewart (the second) was charged with first degree burglary. Police say Stewart kicked in a door to a home in the 14-hundred block of Jackson Street and assaulted the man who was found unresponsive and bleeding from the face and hands. The victim was taken to MercyOne Medical Center for treatment.
