Plans for an Ascension Parish wastewater treatment plant near residential areas in Geismar and Dutchtown have been scrapped, with officials saying they will look elsewhere. The site recently proposed by National Water Infrastructure, which finalized its $9.3 million purchase of the Ascension Parish sewer system in April, received significant pushback from attendees at a public meeting last week.
