    VOTE: Citizen Times and Times-News spring sports Week 12 boys athlete of the week

    The Citizen Times and Times-News boys athlete of the week, Week 12

    Jeremiah Dodd, Asheville Christian Academy: Dodd claimed a state championship in the 110-meter hurdles with a 15.94 second mark in the boys NCISAA Division II state championships. Dodd also finished second in the long jump.

    Cameron Hawklove, Asheville School: Hawklove took the pole vault state title with a mark of 12 feet, 6 inches at the boys NCISAA Division II state championships.

    Dawson Reeves, Christ School: Reeves slept the long-distance events at the boys NCISAA Division II state championships, winning the state crown in the 800-meter, 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter to bring the Greenies to a team state championship.

    Connor Warren, Mitchell: Warren shot an even-par 35 through nine holes, giving him a score of 107 through two days to win his third consecutive 1A boys golf individual state championship.

    Trevae Woodyard, Owen: Woodyard's 37.83 mark earned him the NCHSAA 2A state championship in the 300-meter hurdles.

    Reno Jeter, Roberson: Jeter threw five innings of one-hit ball in Roberson's 7-0 win over Ragsdale in the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs Monday, striking out six. In a 8-5 win in the fourth round Friday, Jeter drove in two runs despite not recording a hit.

    Amos Rich, Tuscola: Rich struck out six batters over six innings Monday, allowing four hits and two runs to earn the win in a 7-2 victory over West Henderson. He also drove in two runs at the plate. On Friday, Rich went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBIs, leading the offense in a 6-4 win over North Davidson to send the Mountaineers to a 3A West Regional final.

    PLAYOFF RIVALRY: How Tuscola upset defending NCHSAA 3A baseball state champions to advance to 4th round

    Evan Conner, Tuscola: Conner homered twice to lead the Mountaineers to a 7-2 upset win over West Henderson in the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs.
