The green flag has yet to fly to kick off a 60th season of ABC Raceway events with uncooperative weather delaying the races. The Saturday night series will now try to kick off with the first night of the FastLane Motorsports Northland Super Stock Series on Saturday, June 1, presented by the NAPA Auto Parts Stores of Ashland and Washburn. The Super Stock Series includes stops on nine nights over the next three weekends at eight different tracks in northwestern Wisconsin and northeastern Minnesota. ABC is offering an unprecedented purse including $4,000 for the winner and four-figure paychecks to each of the top five feature finishers. Early estimates are calling for more than 50 Superior Floral WISSOTA Super Stock entries. Other tracks hosting races in this year’s series are in Rice Lake, Menomonie and Superior, Wis.; and Proctor, Grand Rapids, Ogilvie and Sauk Rapids, Minn. Fans are also encouraged to submit their own photos with permission to use to Paul Barnes at pressnews@ashlanddailypress.net. Photos used will be credited to the photographer, and may appear in a collection of photo collages displayed within the Ashland Daily Press over the course of the season.
