‘Jacks net twoThe Northland College LumberJacks hockey team added two international athletes in Tristen Bear from Manitoba, Canada, and Jude Ayling from Longdon, England for the 2024-25 season. Both players bring with them considerable high level club hockey experience. Bear played with the Thunder Bay North Stars at juniors where he helped lead the team to the postseason with six points on two goals and one assist.

Ayling is a goalie who played in 12 games with the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings last year and boasted a .929 save percentage. Highlights from last season for him included helping lead the Riverkings to a USPHL division title while also being selected Player of the Week on two occasions. In the classroom, Ayling became the first student at his school to twice receive the Headmaster’s Award for leadership and impact in the school and local community. Both players remarked that Northland College was the “right fit” for them, with each expressing dual goals of excelling in hockey and academically.
