    Several Scott & Taylor Co. workers escaped injury as a floor collapsed. An overload of materials was the cause of the collapse of the second story floor.

    Ashland’s first Centennial baby, a son born to Mr. and Mrs. Geoffrey Watson, Geoffrey Smiles Watson, born here at Trinity Hospital. The baby’s grandfather, Dr.

    C. J. Smiles, is Ashland’s oldest physician in years of service having practiced here for 42 years.
