Public meeting to focus on proposed SR 229, SR 61 Intersection Improvement Project
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) would like to invite the public to an upcoming meeting to receive input on improvements that have been developed to address safety issues at the intersection of state Route (SR) 229 and SR 61 located west of the village of Marengo in Bennington Township, Morrow County.

Sawmill Extension-Section Line Roundabout Work to Begin
Section Line Road will be closed for 45 days beginning July 22 for the construction of a roundabout intersection at the Sawmill Parkway extension. The closure will be between Pittsburgh Drive and U.S. 42. The detour route for through-traffic includes Pittsburgh Drive, London Road, and U.S. 42. Quarry access will be maintained from the south. Work is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 13.
District hires new food service director
The Delaware City Schools Board of Education on Monday hired a new food service director and ordered the purchase of a new truck to haul band equipment. Meeting in the Willis Education Center, the board approved the employment of David K. Drennen as the district’s new food service director. Executive Director of Human and Material Resources Jerry Stewart said Drennen has experience overseeing Meals on Wheels in several central Ohio counties and is a Delaware resident.
Library holds ‘Officially Speaking’ event
Selover Public Library in Chesterville held its sixth “Officially Speaking” event on June 26. Morrow County’s Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) wildlife officer Tyler Eldred joined a small group of local residents to enjoy some light refreshments and talk about himself and an ODNR wildlife officer’s responsibilities.

Marion will host state and provincial legislators from across the region this weekend as part of The Council of State Governments’ Midwestern Legislative Conference Annual Meeting taking place July 21-24 in Columbus.
