Tornado confirmed in Davenport from Monday’s storms
The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has confirmed a tornado hit Davenport during last night’s storms. BELLE PLAINE, Iowa (KCRG) - Inside Drahos Shoe Store, on Main Street in Belle Plaine, lives generations of knowledge. “My grandfather was a Shoemaker in Bohemia. In 1904, he immigrated to the US. He was 17 years old. He had $22.60 in his pocket,” says Dan Drahos, the current owner and operator of Drahos Shoe Store. Don’s grandfather used those talents to start up a shoe repair business in Belle Plaine during the Great Depression, and eventually passed the business along to his son.
North Iowa Woman Gets Up to 10 Years in Prison Stealing Over $100K from Employer
A north Iowa woman could serve up to a decade in prison for stealing more than $100,000 from her employer. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Malorie Hallock of Mason City last November after she was accused of embezzling the money while she worked at Studio 65 in Clear Lake, stealing $123,000 in business deposits between January and October of 2023. The criminal complaint says Hallock deposited the money into her own account.
