Carson Beck possesses just about every tool a high-caliber college football quarterback can have, but how can he get better in 2024 as the Georgia Bulldogs chase another national championship?

Beck's return makes him one of, if not the best, players at the position in college football headed into the 2024 season. He finished at No. 3 behind Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix in passing yards a year ago, all while leading UGA to a 13-1 season and narrow College Football Playoff miss as a first-year starter.

Beck put up 3,941 passing yards and 24 touchdowns to six interceptions, adding 116 yards and four scores on the ground.

There are higher expectations for the senior with a full season and offseason as the unquestioned starter under his belt.

So how does Beck take his play to another level in 2024?

Kirby Smart wants to see more fire from the Heisman contender, who is listed by Bet MGM at +750 odds to win the prestigious award behind Oregon's Dillon Gabriel (+700).

"Showing emotion and getting excited for the players," Smart said at SEC Media Days.

"But for him, Bobo makes the points, 'I need to see you run down there and celebrate with that guy. I need to see you embrace those guys.'"

Poise, a characteristic often mentioned when evaluating the sport's best QBs. Beck has plenty of that calm collectiveness that helps him stay in the moment in high-pressure situations. That doesn't mean that a little emotion would hurt, though, as Smart outlined.

Beck will have his first chance to show what improvements he has made when Georgia travels to Atlanta to take on the Clemson Tigers in Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Aug. 31.
