It's never too early for an NFL mock draft.

A to Z Sports Film Rooms ' James Foster released his first 2025 NFL mock draft of the year and Georgia football fans will like that Carson Beck is the first quarterback to go off board.

Foster has Beck going No. 4 overall to the New York Giants, who trade back from the No. 1 overall pick to select the Bulldogs star.

"The Giants are picking fourth and judging by the training camp videos, it doesn't seem like Daniel Jones has taken that next step, so they're going to go with a quarterback: Carson Beck out of Georgia," Foster said. "I liked Carson Beck in last year's class. He was right in that Bo Nix, JJ McCarthy tier of quarterbacks. And he's really just an inoffensive quality quarterback prospect with maybe a slightly limited upside. But he just does everything at a high level, at least from the pocket."

If Giants' veteran quarterback Daniel Jones can't bounce back from the ACL injury he suffered last year, then there's no question that they'll be in the market for their future franchise quarterback come next April.

And as an early Heisman candidate favorite, Beck could be the reliable pocket passer that New York needs.

"He has a quick release and throws with excellent timing and anticipation, especially over the middle of the field," Foster continues. "He can layer passes and throw with touch. He's accurate at all three levels. He doesn't have a cannon, but I think his arm strength is firmly above average by NFL standards. And then he also does a good job of avoiding turnovers"

After rambling on about Beck's strengths, Foster breaks down Beck's biggest weakness, which is that he doesn't bring much to the table in the run game.

Foster goes on to compare Beck to Jared Goff and Matt Ryan, who have each found success in the NFL without heavily relying on their legs.

"His main weaknesses are that he's not a dynamic athlete," Foster explains. "He doesn't really offer you much in the run game. And he's kind of just a statuesque pocket passer, doesn't really create much out of structure or make things happen when he's under pressure. But I still like him as a prospect. I think a Jared Goff to Matt Ryan outcome is definitely realistic."

There's no doubt that Beck can make big plays happen as long as he's surrounded by weapons, and the Giants have plenty of those with Malik Nabers, Devin Singletary, and Darius Slayton on their roster.

Beck enters his final season at the college level after completing 72.4 percent of his pass attempts for 3,941 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 2023. He also rushed for 116 yards and four touchdowns. He ranked third nationally and first in the SEC with his passing yards.
