1 Breakfast Canceled

NELSONVILLE — The Nelsonville American Legion Post 229 canceled breakfast scheduled for Saturday.

2 Ribbon-cutting

The City of Athens announces that a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Southwest Sewer and Waterline Improvements Project will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday near the Dairy Barn Arts Center Entrance on Dairy Lane.

The project included the installation of new sanitary sewer line between Stagecoach Road and Dairy Lane, as well as, the installation of new and replacement sanitary sewer, new water line, asphalt pavement, relaying brick, and the addition of new sidewalk on Dairy Lane, between the Corporation Limits and the Richland Avenue Intersection.

Members of the public and community are invited to attend the ribbon cutting.

3 Boil Advisory

The City of Athens issued a boil advisory Tuesday that is in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday for Roosevelt Drive. Residents are advised to boil water for at least three minutes before use.

Training at Airport

ALBANY — The Albany Area Volunteer Fire Department along with several other fire departments, Athens County EMS and various other agencies will conduct a mock airplane disaster drill between 8 a.m. and noon Sunday at the Gordon K. Bush Ohio University airport.
