    Food Distribution

    ALBANY — The SE Ohio Foodbank, a program of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP), will distribute fresh produce, protein, and other shelf-stable food items from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the Living Water Worship Center, 401 Dailey Road, Albany. Food items will be available for Athens County residents who qualify for state benefits or with incomes under 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. This "Mini Mobile Market" will distribute items on a first-come, first-served basis and will end early if all food is given away.

    To access food assistance, a photo I.D. and proof of residency no more than 60 days old is required. Pre-registration is not required for this event, and will be completed onsite.

    Businesses honored

    NELSONVILLE — The Nelsonville Area Chamber of Commerce recently held its annual business appreciation event filled. Connie Altier received the R. Victor Oakley Community Service Award.

    Altier, representing Tri-County Career Center; Terri Donlin-Huesman, CEO of The Osteopathic Heritage Foundation; and the 2023 Miss Parade of the Hills Maelee Collins spoke during the event.

    Hog Roast

    ALBANY — Columbia Township Fire Department, State Route 143, Albany, will host a hog roast starting at 1 p.m. Aug. 25. Adults plates are $12, and children's plates are $6.
