WILMINGTON - Deerfield Valley Rescue is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The organization, which many locals simply refer to as “Rescue” was founded in 1974. The nonprofit organization provides “prehospital emergency medical care” to residents in the towns of Wilmington, Dover, Searsburg, Somerset, Whitingham, Halifax, and parts of Marlboro and Stratton. Police: Bennington County man assaulted driver he says sped past house
A Bennington County man allegedly attacked a man because he was driving too fast outside his home. Vermont State Police responded to an incident on Pine Ridge Drive in Pownal on Tuesday just before 6:15 p.m. Douglas Peltier, 47, is accused of confronting the 67-year-old man, who is also from Pownal, as he drove by his residence. He later assaulted him when he was outside of his vehicle, police said.
