On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs kicked off their training camp for the 2024–2025 NFL season. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is eyeing a third straight Super Bowl win, but he is doing it leading a whole different group of quarterbacks to begin the season.

Carson Wentz, who played with the Los Angeles Rams in 2023, signed a one-year, $3.325 million contract with the Chiefs over the offseason and will replace Blaine Gabbert as Mahomes' backup.

On Wentz's first day of training camp, the quarterback has already made a simple mistake. As the Chiefs' QB group of Mahomes (15), Wentz (11), Ian Book (2), and Chris Oladokun (13) were walking onto the field, Wentz slipped and nearly went down but managed to recover quickly.

Mahomes thought this error by Wentz was hilarious:

"Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? Hey, post that. Post that," Mahomes said as he pointed to the camera, laughing.

"You gotta post that. You have to post that," Oladokun added.

Wentz played college ball with North Dakota State from 2011–2015. The Philadelphia Eagles selected him with the No. 2 pick in the 2016 NFL draft.

After four seasons with the Eagles, which included a Super Bowl win, Wentz bounced around the league for three seasons, playing with the Indianapolis Colts, Washington Commanders, and the Rams.

Mahomes is widely considered the best NFL player of his time. He already has three Super Bowl wins and two MVP awards, accomplishing all of this before turning 29 years old.
