Angel Reese Responds To Update On Chicago Sky’s Facilities

The Chicago Sky recently announced that they will be opening a new training facility, which is expected to be ready ahead of the 2026 WNBA season.

Rookie Angel Reese spoke about the Sky's update following Chicago's practice on Wednesday, sharing her excitement for the organization and women's basketball as a whole.

“Women’s basketball is elevating," Reese said." "I’m really excited for 2026.”

Reese and the Sky are currently practicing at the Sachs Recreation Center in Deerfield, Illinois. The facilities they've been using since 2011 continue to be an inconvenience, as they are located nearly 30 miles away from their homecourt at Wintrust Arena.

Despite the outdated facility that's a lengthy distance from the Sky's home arena, Reese doesn't seem too worried about any top-of-the-line upgrades.

The first-year star explained that she just wants to be loved and appreciated, whether that's in a new facility or at a local park.

“I don’t care if we practice down the street," Reese said. "I wanna be where I’m loved and where I’m appreciated. … As long as I have two goals … and a ball to put in the hoop.”

Reese and the Sky haven't been on the hardwood for a WNBA matchup since July 16. The league is currently working through its mandated break in the season for the Paris Olympics.

Chicago was given nearly a week of vacation before they went back to training for the second half of the WNBA season.

They currently stand as the No. 8 seed in the WNBA rankings with a 10-14 record.

The 22-year-old star ranks as the No. 2 player in points per game and No. 1 in rebounds per game on Chicago's roster.

Angel Reese is averaging 13.5 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.

Chicago will be back on the court on Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. ET when they host the Phoenix Mercury for their first game back from the break.
