Quincy Wilson is set to make his Olympic debut on Friday morning when the United States' 4x400 relay team takes the track for its opening heat at Stade de France.

The 16-year-old phenom has been confirmed as one of Team USA's four athletes for the event, according to multiple reports on Thursday.

When Wilson runs on Friday morning, he'll be the youngest American male athlete to ever participate in an Olympic track and field event.

"Tune in Friday Morning @ 5:05am est #teamusa," Wilson wrote in an Instagram post.

Wilson ran three consecutive 400m times under 45 seconds at the Olympic trials earlier this year. The Maryland teen has this year's 11th fastest 400m time in the world and fourth fastest for an American. He notched a personal best when he recorded an Under-18 world record of 44.20 seconds.

"When I got the call, I was like, I was ecstatic," Wilson said of qualifying for the Olympics. "I started running around the house. It was just a moment for me because everybody dreams about going to the Olympics as a young kid."

The American 4x400 relay team will participate in the opening heat on Friday morning. Wilson and his teammates are the favorites to take home gold.
