The Cincinnati Bengals offense ruled the day on Wednesday at training camp.

Multiple reporters who were on hand for practice this week talked about the fact that the offense had their way with the defense , and it even led to tensions boiling over between players on both units .

For the offense, the knowledge that they are frustrating the defense has to make them feel like they are doing something right and inspire hope of being able to do the same thing to other teams. Offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher spoke to the media after practice and said how exciting it was that the offense was able to have a huge day.

"We like these periods as an offense, because so often it's scripted, and the ball starts at the same yard line every time," Pitcher said . "There's a sense of momentum and juice you get as an offense when you get to move the ball down the field. I think you saw that on our first couple of drives. It builds confidence and Joe made a ton of plays on those drives...It was a fun practice for all of us. When things get super competitive like that you hear the banter back and forth. Once you step back from what just happened, it's a fun day. It's a fun day for Joe. It's a fun day for all us."

As the team gets ready to strap up the pads against an actual opponent this weekend, it sounds like both sides are ready to get after it against someone other than themselves.
