SEC Football Program Announces Unique Beer-Related NIL Strategy

Never doubt the power and creativity of college football fans and programs, especially in the NIL era. Purchasing power can be the difference between landing a Marquis recruit and dwelling at the bottom of one’s conference. It doesn’t get much more competitive than college football in the SEC.

Teams are willing to do some wild things to get a competitive edge, and the Arkansas Razorbacks are no exception. They unveiled a new deal with Tyson Foods in early August to start making “Razorback nuggets”, chicken nuggets in the shape of the Arkansas logo. The program took it a step further on Thursday by releasing a new product that should be embraced on college campuses.

“A week after Tyson Foods released 'Razorback Nuggets,' Arkansas is rolling out Tusk beer," On3 NIL posted on X. "A portion of proceeds will go to the Arkansas Edge NIL collective. Tusk will be available at War Memorial Stadium for the season opener.”

Talk about a product that sells itself. Not only will these be available at the stadium on game day, but I’m sure you’ll find several ‘philanthropic’ fans who will be delighted to learn how they’re supporting Arkansas football by drinking beer at their tailgates.

The Razorbacks start their season with a 7:30 p.m. (ET) home game on Aug. 29 against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions. If their season starts turning out anything like it did in 2023 when they went 4-8, fans might need a few more Tusks to help them get through the schedule.
