Veteran QB linked to the Raiders in the 2025 offseason

The Raiders quarterback struggles continue through training camp as neither Aidan O'Connell or Gardner Minshew appear to be creating a gap to separate themselves from the other candidate.

The fact that no starting quarterback has been picked and the unproven nature of each player, some people are already assuming the Raiders will have to address this issue in 2025.

Of those people saying it'll be addressed in 2025 is an NFL analyst for Fox who thinks they'll swoop up a veteran quarterback in free agency, as first reported by "Raiders beat."

Jason Fitz said on Raider Nation's morning tailgate that he thinks the Raiders will likely make a play at Dak Prescott if O'Connell and Minshew do not pan out.

“My prediction right now is that the Raiders are good enough to win a lot of football games this year, but it’s not going to be easy. And I think next year they are going to make an aggressive move to try and bring in somebody like Dak.”

Prescott is certainly a possibility for the Raiders should they play themselves out of a high draft pick. Should that happen, they would also prove to a free agent quarterback that they can compete without them.

Some of the predictions coming out this offseason have the Raiders targeting Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft, that's a long shot and a reach. Yes Sanders would be a much cheaper option than Prescott, but Mark Davis doesn't mind spending, if he thinks it gives the team a chance to win.
