'Right Place, Right Time' For Commanders' Dan Quinn?

Following his firing in Atlanta, Washington Commanders coach Dan Quinn didn’t know if he’d get another head coaching job in the NFL. He spent three years as the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys building a top five defense.

He got another chance in Washington with a team that needed a defensive guru and culture guy. Quinn was the man for the job and things around the facility are much different.

In an appearance on the Rich Eisen Show , coach Quinn summed up how sometimes life leads you in the right direction.

“Every once in a while, you are where you are supposed to be, with the right people, at the right time." Quinn said. "And I certainly feel like that’s this place here with me, Josh Harris, and Adam Peters, who were at the very front of that.”

The universe has a way of telling you where to go and how to get there. Quinn listened and he has been changing everything about the culture with the Commanders. Players have even remarked that the “vibe” around the team is the complete opposite of what it was before.

If you want to know what kind of culture Quinn brings to the Commanders, you only have to go back to the very first day of OTAs when he insisted players get to know each other on a personal level so that they can connect with one another before every opening a playbook.

Quinn is creating a family in Washington and remarked “it’s been really cool to see these guys connect fast.”

The Commanders kick their preseason off on Saturday against the New York Jets.
