Sauce Gardner Details Warning Robert Saleh Shared With Jets

After a week filled with joint practice fighting, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh made it clear that strict punishments would come to his team if they followed suit Thursday.

Perhaps that was why, outside of some pushing and shoving, the Jets and Washington Commanders had a relatively tame joint practice together Thursday morning in a torrential downpour.

According to one star on the team, the lack of any substantial fighting was part of the plan.

“I mean, Saleh said something in the team meeting,” Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner said. “I’m not going to say it. If he decides to say it, he’ll say it. But there’s a reason y’all weren’t seeing any punches being thrown. He said something — it was a consequence that nobody wanted to receive, so that’s why you weren’t seeing a lot of punches being thrown.”

Saleh has had full control of the roster for many years now. His warning to the team and the organization following his words is a sign of the complete respect they have for one another.

It may not seem like much, but the team following Saleh's words is always a sign that he still has control of the roster.

It's also the reason why New York won't be fined at all for Thursday's practice - unlike their counterparts further south in the state.
