U.S. sprinter Noah Lyles has been at the top of headlines over the past several hours after the news of his positive COVID-19 test at the Paris Olympics.

Lyles is fresh off a bronze medal victory in the men's 200-meter final. While he was able to stand on the podium after the 200-meter final with a time of 19.70, Lyles fell short of attaining a gold medal as the favorite to win the race.

After the news that he had tested positive for COVID-19 surfaced, Lyles took to social media to express his appreciation for fans and give an update on his availability for the rest of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He started by congratulating Letsile Tebogo of Botswana, who won the gold medal in the 200-meter final, finishing at 19.46, and Kenneth Bednarek of the United States, who earned a silver medal in the race with a time of 19.62.

Lyles then dropped the news, mentioning that he believes this will mark the end of his 2024 Olympic run.

While he hasn't fully confirmed that he will no longer be participating in the 2024 Olympics, Lyles hinted at the end of his time at the Paris Games.

If this marks the end, Lyles will have left the international games, having secured a gold medal in the 100-meter final and a bronze medal in the 200-meter final.

If he qualifies for the international event, the 27-year-old will have an opportunity to compete in the 2028 Olympic Games. He would be able to represent his home country, as the games will be held in Los Angeles, California.
