Kevin Durant Puts Win Over Serbia in Perspective

    By Lance Roberson,

Draft Kings figured Team USA as a 15.5 favorite over Serbia. However, numbers can't measure heart, and Serbia nearly took Team USA's soul, as it led by as much as 17 points. However, Team USA went on a clutch 24-8 run, storming Serbia for the lead. While many view the win as disappointing, due to the favorable odds and also the massive gap in talent between the two teams, Kevin Durant sees it differently.

"How can you not celebrate a win like that? We all came together as one across the world," Durant said with his mother next to him.

Durant scored nine points on 4-8 shooting from the field, including one three-point shot. For a grander perspective: Durant is the all-time leader in Team USA points. If anyone understands the gravity of an Olympic victory, it's the former Golden State Warriors superstar.

"I guarantee everyone is going to remember this night for the rest of their lives. We showed how together we were in the fourth quarter; it was incredible," Durant isn't lying.

The last time the Men's Team USA basketball lost was in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics against France. Serbia has two NBA players on the roster, yet held the lead for the majority of the game. It took historic performances from Stephen Curry and LeBron James to narrolw escape Serbia.

Between Curry's 17-point first quarter, Joel Embiid's fourth-quarter perfomance, and  James' triple-double, there are plenty reasons to cherish from Team USA's 95-91 victory.

Team USA faces France in the gold medal game on August 10 at 12:30 PM Pacific Time.
