Everywhere Kalen DeBoer has been, he has won. He boasts an incredible 104-12 record as a college football head coach, including a 37-9 record at the FBS level over the past four seasons.

DeBoer is best known for his coaching tenure with the Washington Huskies over the past two seasons. He successfully revived the team after a 4-8 season, leading them to an impressive 11-2 record in his first season and a remarkable 14-1 record in the following season. During the latter season, DeBoer guided the team to a Pac-12 championship and a College Football Playoff game win before ultimately losing in the national championship game.

It's different as the coach of the Crimson Tide, though. Alabama's standard is making the College Football Playoff and competing for a national championship every year. ESPN's Paul Finebaum believes an 8-4 season would be a disaster for the new Alabama coach.

"Right now, I would say 8-4 would be a disaster for Kalen DeBoer," Finebaum said.

ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) measures team strength and aims to predict a team's future performance for the remainder of the season. According to the FPI, the Crimson Tide is projected to have a 9-3 record this season and has a top-seven chance of making the playoff in the country.

There are unknowns about how DeBoer will perform in his first season at Alabama. However, the expectations seem to be still very high.
