The Boston Red Sox (61-52) are one of the most storied franchises in MLB. With a history dating back to 1901, the club has employed a total of 48 different managers. On Monday, current Manager Alex Cora became just the third manager to record 500 wins as manager of the Red Sox, and just the second to achieve it in the last 60 years.

Cora, 48, signed on to be the Red Sox manager before the 2018 season. With a roster loaded with talent, Cora would manage the club to a 108-54 record in the regular season, before going 11-3 in the postseason and winning the World Series as a rookie manager. Cora was just the fifth rookie manager to win the World Series, and the first since Bob Brenly in 2001.

Cora is no stranger to World Series Championships. As a Major League player, he was a member of the 2007 Red Sox team that would sweep the Colorado Rockies. Cora played under Terry Francona , a two-time World Series Champion, and the only manager in Red Sox history to reach 500 career managerial wins in fewer games than Cora.

Alex Cora signed a three-year contract extension with the Red Sox on July 24th, ensuring that he is steering the ship for the foreseeable future.

With superstars, the likes of Rafael Devers and Jarren Duran , and prospects the likes of Marcelo Mayer , Roman Anthony , and Kyle Teel , the Red Sox's future looks bright. And with Alex Cora steering the ship with his Championship-winning pedigree, the Boston Red Sox are in capable hands.
