Soaked in rain, the USA women's 4x100m relay team featuring Sha’Carri Richardson, Gabby Thomas, Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry took gold amid an emotional finish on Friday, August 9.

Richardson, the anchor runner, made up a fairly wide margin down the stretch to win her first career Olympic gold medal. USA's quartet clocked in with a final time of 41.78 seconds.

After initially crossing the finish line, the NBC broadcast noted the in-stadium scoreboard listed Great Britain as the winner, leaving the 24-year-old sprinter in a temporary state of confusion.

The error was quickly corrected, however, as cameras picked up Richardson shouting "F*** yeah!" in celebration while staring toward the crowd.

It wasn't Richardson's only stare down of the race , either. Ahead of the finish line, the Texas native looked sharply at the British runner to her right, echoing USA's Noah Lyles from days prior.
