Colorado head coach Deion Sanders was easily the biggest story of the college football season a year ago.

After finding success at his first coaching job at Jackson State where he compiled a 27-6 record, Sanders was hired to turn around what had been a struggling Colorado program. Coming off of a 1-11 season in Karl Dorrell's final year, Sanders took over the program and immediately told the players from the 2022 season to hit the portal with his infamous "Louis Luggage" speech. He then proceeded to bring in over 50 transfers, led by his sons at quarterback and safety, and two-way star Travis Hunter.

While the Buffs got off to a hot 3-0 start that captivated the sports world with record-breaking viewership numbers seemingly every week, they ended up going 4-8 and the Sanders family became one of the most scrutinized in the sport. While many fans only view Deion Sanders as a legendary athlete, a coach who is changing the status quo, or someone who they have always seen on television, he is also a family man.

When speaking to the media on Friday, Sanders talked about things such as his new transfer portal additions, new uniforms, and he also revealed a bit about his personal life. With August 9 being his birthday, he revealed what may be the best birthday present imaginable, a grandchild.

Sanders revealed that his daughter, Deiondra Sanders, had her first child on Friday.

"Do you understand how beautiful that is?," Sanders asked the media after the reveal.

Sanders and the Buffs will kick their season off on Thursday, August 29 against the North Dakota State Bison in a game that ESPN has them favored by 8.5 points.
