WATCH: Run, Micah! - LB Plays Running Back at Camp

    By Anthony Goss,

Micah Parsons has proved he can lineup anywhere in a defensive scheme and would likely find a way to excel if asked to play any of those positions on that side. So - at least to him - it's about time the Dallas Cowboys try their luck with their star linebacker on offense.

Friday, the Cowboys let Parsons play running back for one rep, where he took a carry from Cooper Rush and navigated his lanes well into the second level.

Maybe it was a result of the light practice or his teammates on the defense letting him get his shine. But the defensive star looked pretty fearsome bulldozing out of the backfield.

Parsons has one touchdown in his career which came off a fumble return in 2022. Maybe the next one comes on an offensive snap...

Dallas has discussed exploring his versatility in Mike Zimmer's scheme, but this is likely not what the new defensive coordinator has in mind.

The Cowboys' have received a myriad of criticisms this offseason with many of those gripes pertaining to the structure of the backfield. Regardless, the duo of Ezekiel Elliott and Rico Dowdle will be the group they will bring into the regular season.

Perhaps in a goal-line situation under the right circumstances, we could see the return of Parsons in the backfield. ... something he's talked about often.

The reality? Not unlike when Parsons gets to field punts at practice, this is all just about fun and games, and about keeping this "hyperactive kid'' engaged.

But ... If the Cowboys want to use him in such a scenario, good luck to the defenders trying to bring down "the Lion."
