After he was singled out by Serbian sharpshooter Bogdan Bogdanovic, Carmelo Anthony had one word for Team USA's electric comeback to reach the gold medal game.

"Greatness," Anthony shared in a post on X after Team USA erased a 17-point deficit to beat Serbia 95-91 at the Paris Olympics.

The win sent the United States back to the gold medal game for the fifth straight time, setting up a showdown with host country France.

Anthony had an unexpected role in Team USA's win on August 8, with Bogdanovic seemingly taunting the retired NBA star by doing Anthony's signature three-point celebration in his direction in the front row. The moment caught the attention of NBC broadcaster Noah Eagle, who questioned why Bogdanovic would turn his attention to Anthony in the crowd.

Though Bogdanovic's three-pointer put his team up by 15 and they would later stretch the lead to 17, it wasn't enough as Steph Curry poured in 36 points -- just one shy of Anthony's Team USA single-game record of 37 points set in the 2012 Olympics.

Anthony took an active role in Thursday's win, standing at one point late in the fourth quarter and appearing to encourage Kevin Durant to go into isolation against his defender. Durant called off his teammates and shook off his defender, scoring a key basket.
