CeeDee Lamb vs. Dallas Cowboys: Who Blinks First?

    By Wil Riggs,

On this episode of “How The Star Turns,''  we ask the question, "Who will blink first?''

Dallas Cowboys All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb has missed all of the offseason holding out for a new contract extension, and the situation seems to get more and more tense by the day.

On one hand, we have Cowboys COO Stephen Jones empathizing with Lamb’s situation and the ongoing contract negotiations.

“We think the world of CeeDee,'' Stephen said. “And we understand where he is coming from on this, and why he’s not here, but we continue to work very hard on getting this deal done.”

His answer was both tactful and tactical. His message was clearly that they are trying to work out a deal that is beneficial for both sides that will end the holdout and get one of their best players back on the field.

On the other hand, and on the same day, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that this issue is not a pressing matter.

“I don’t have a sense of urgency about getting it done,” Jerry said. “Pick any reason you want. I was at Nobu two days ago, give that as a reason. Whatever you want, put it out there.”

Of course, the video and subsequent reports on it when viral almost instantly. It spread like wildfire, but it was what happened next that could have Cowboys’ fans a bit worried.

Lamb's tweet with three little letters? "LOL.''

And it gets better, or worst depending on your point of view. Micah Parsons, the Cowboys All-Pro edge rusher, retweeted Lamb’s tweet.

These are bold moves on both parts, but the question is, who will blink first? The Cowboys could opt to not extend Lamb at all and franchise him after this year.

Will Lamb show up for the start of the season? Currently his fines are piling up and are about to top $1.5 million. If he does show up without an extension in place, will he give the 110 percent we are used to seeing?

The Cowboys need Lamb on the field. They cannot go into the season with Super Bowl aspirations without him. ... meaning somebody's gotta blink.

    Right?
