Jordan Chiles just finished an incredible campaign at the 2024 Paris Olympics, bringing home gold in the team competition and bronze in the Floor Exercise.

Chiles is beloved by many for her elite gymnastics talent and bubbly personality. But just as is the case for any prominent athlete, it's impossible to completely avoid the toxic hate that inevitably seeps through the cracks.

Unfortunately, it appears the 23-year-old Team USA superstar has been targeted by some of this hate following her most recent Olympic appearance.

Chiles' mother, Gina, says her daughter has faced "racist disgusting comments" after her Paris 2024 campaign.

"The racist disgusting comments are still happening in 2024. I'm tired of people who say it no longer exists. My daughter is a highly decorated Olympian with the biggest heart and a level of sportsmanship that is unmatched...and she's being called disgusting things," Gina Chiles wrote on X.

Chiles was involved in a controversial moment during the Floor Exercise finals in Paris. The American gymnast was initially awarded a 13.666 score for her routine, but a last-second score change after an inquiry from Team USA coaches bumped her up to a 13.766.

This 0.1 bump was enough to move Chiles onto the podium in bronze, leapfrogging Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu.

This third-place finish behind Brazil's Rebeca Andrade and Simone Biles gave Chiles the first individual medal of her Olympic career.

“I just wanted to come out and do the best I could," Chiles said after her podium finish. "I have no words — I’m just very proud of myself.”
