New Balance Releases the Shohei Ohtani Collection

Last season’s American League MVP, Shohei Ohtani, has picked up right where he left off. Just two days ago, he became the first Japanese-born player to hit 200 home runs. Although he isn’t pitching in his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he has taken on an additional role: spokesperson for New Balance.

Ohtani and New Balance take their first swing at a signature shoe collection by releasing the Shohei Ohtani Collection today. This collection features the FuelCell Ohtani 1, a mid-top baseball cleat available in white/gold or black/gold, priced at $159.99. The FuelCell also comes as a matching trainer shoe option, priced at $119.99, making it versatile for both the field and the street. The versatility of the trainer will be important, as increases the possibilities of the collection to be worn casually.

Along the collection long with the FuelCell Ohtani 1 and FuelCell Ohtani Trainer, the collection includes numerous clothing options such as woven nylon jackets and pants, t-shirts, and short-sleeve terry cloth hoodies and shorts. All items are printed with Ohtani’s official logo, a silhouette of himself round the bases, headed towards home plate.
