Charles Barkley Loves His TNT Colleagues

    By Lance Roberson,

Charles Barkley is wrong about many of his basketball predictions. However, when he's right, he's on the money. Following his decision to stay with TNT after public posturing for another possible gig, Barkley's main concern was people losing their jobs.

In dedication to Barkley's colleagues, the TNT personality is aiming to do something that sounds out of a game show.

“It’s been really dreary at work the last couple of months because hundreds of people are going to lose their jobs,” Barkley said. “I’m going to give all 50 people who are in the studio every night downstairs … I’m going to give every one of those people $5,000. … That’s how much they mean to me. TNT says I’ve got to and the government says I’ve got to pay taxes. I said, ‘Screw the government and screw TNT, I’ll find a way to get it to you all in cash," Barkley said on the Dan Patrick Show.

As the most popular sports personality in the industry, every media company wanted a piece of Barkley, the heart and soul of Inside the NBA, aside from Ernie Johnson.

Although TNT lost its rights to the NBA, the job isn't finished. TNT has one more season before unceremoniously passing the baton to Amazon Prime Video and NBCUniversal.

Until then, look for Barkley to turn Inside the NBA into a chaotic version of The Price is Right or an episode of Oprah where the audience receives a gift under their seats.
