The Miami Marlins (43-74) are in the middle of a lost season, so they have no reason to rush any of their players back from injury. With an extensive injured list including some of their best players, 2025 looks to be better for the club, even if just incrementally so.

    10/15-Day Injured List

    C Nick Fortes

Nick Fortes (right quadriceps strain) was lifted for a pinch runner after a seventh-inning single on August 5th. Fortes is jogging and working on strengthening, and the club is hopeful that he will be able to return once the 10-day stint is over.

    60-Day Injured List

    LHP Braxton Garrett

Braxton Garrett (2-2, 5.35 ERA; left forearm flexor strain) has begun throwing out to 105 feet. The club is hopeful that Garrett can begin throwing bullpens within the next week and expects him to return in September.

    LHP Ryan Weathers

Ryan Weathers (3-5, 3.55 ERA; left index finger strain) has also begun throwing out to 105 feet. He should be starting bullpen sessions within the next week. Like Garrett, Weathers is expected to return in September.

    LHP Jesus Luzardo

Jesus Luzardo (3-6, 5.00 ERA; lumbar stress reaction) is scheduled for six more weeks of rest with no throwing. He is continuing to train with bike workouts as well as shoulder and arm strengthening. He is not expected to return this season.

    RHP Sandy Alcantara

Sandy Alcantara ( Tommy John surgery) continues to ramp up his bullpen work. His first bullpen session took place on July 24th, throwing 20 pitches. He is still not expected back this season.

    RHP Sixto Sanchez

Sixto Sanchez (0-3, 6.06 ERA; right shoulder inflammation) continues to throw bullpen sessions in Jupiter, Florida, ramping up his intensity gradually. He is expected to return in September.
