Most of the starters on the New York Jets roster are not expected to make an appearance in the team's preseason-opening contest against the Washington Commanders.

Most of the names included starting caliber players like Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Aaron Rodgers, Tyron Smith, and C.J. Mosley.

Of all the projected starters on the team depth chart, only center Joe Tippmann and defensive end Michael Clemons are expected to see the field at all against the Commanders.

There are some players on the list who may still be fighting for roster spots but are dealing with injuries on their own. Those names include wide receivers Malik Taylor and Jake Hanson.

For the most part, though, the Jets will be throwing out the entire 2024 draft class, including most of the second-year players on their roster going into the new season.

That also includes backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor and defensive tackle Leki Fotu.
