The Cleveland Browns were recently reportedly involved in a potential trade discussion involving wideout Amari Cooper and San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

Browns Digest reported on the possibility of this trade back in June , as there were rumblings that discussions were on the table between the two teams.

Now, the deal was reportedly close to being done, as the Browns would send Cooper, and a second and third-round draft pick to San Francisco in exchange for Aiyuk, who would be required to sign a new, long-term deal with the Browns.

The deal reportedly fell through because Cleveland isn't one of Aiyuk's "preferred destinations," according to NBC Bay Area.

How would Cooper respond to the report that he was being shipped to the 49ers? He posted on his X account, "lol I wouldn't mind at all."

We're not sure if the message indicates Cooper welcomes a trade out of Cleveland, or if he meant he wouldn't mind ending up specifically in San Francisco. But either way, it appears the former Alabama Crimson Tide standout understands the business of football.

For Aiyuk, it means he's now vetoed trades to both New England and Cleveland.

Another potential player in the Brandon Aiyuk sweepstakes is the Browns' rival Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have been rumored all offseason to be in need of a WR1 after shipping Dionte Johnson away earlier this year to the Carolina Panthers. There are question marks on the team about the ability for George Pickens to serve as the main pass catcher on the team.

But what it means for Cooper and the Browns is that the marriage isn't yet over. But now we know Cleveland isn't opposed to moving the 30-year-old for the right price.
