On the first drive of the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers preseason opener, Packers' quarterback Jordan Love wasted no time making an impact, connecting with wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks on a 65-yard pass during the first drive.

On a critical 3rd and 5, Love delivered a perfect strike to Wicks, who broke free from the defense and showcased his speed, propelling the Packers deep into scoring territory.

Wicks, who emerged as a standout rookie in 2023, continued to build on his impressive debut season. Last year, he ranked third on the team with 39 receptions for 581 yards and four touchdowns, leading all Packers rookies in explosive receptions. His knack for making big plays was evident again, as he turned a routine third down into a massive gain for the Packers.

Love, stepping into his role as the team's starting quarterback, demonstrated his ability to make big plays under pressure. This early success is a promising sign for Green Bay, especially as they look to maintain their offensive potency after losing a veteran quarterback in recent years.

As the preseason progresses, all eyes will be on Love and Wicks to see if this connection can become a consistent threat for the Packers' offense in the regular season. This early strike against the Bears is a glimpse of what could be a dynamic duo for Green Bay in 2024.
