Door County League announces All-Star Team
The Door County League announced their roster on Monday for the upcoming All-Star Game against the Shoreland All-Stars next week at Green Bay's Joannes Park. The team, led by Matt Ash (Egg Harbor), Tom Demmin (DCL Vice President) and John Sawyer (DCL President), will feature 14 of the league's top hitters and seven of its best pitchers. Rockers have bad luck against Leprechauns
Four errors and 13 hits were a recipe for disaster for the Green Bay Rockers on Sunday, losing to the Royal Oak Leprechauns 9-7. The Rockers had a 5-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth inning before the Leprechauns scored at least two runs in the following three innings, including three in the fifth and sixth frames. The Rockers had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the eighth, but Mateo Matthews struck out to end the threat.
Rockers walked off by Leprechauns
The Green Bay Rockers started fast but ended in an offensive slide as they lost to the Royal Oak Leprechauns 4-3 on the road Saturday night. Mulivai Levu cleared the bases with a double to make it 3-0 on three hits. They would only muster five more hits as they went scoreless the rest of the way while the Leprechauns slowly chipped away at the lead. An RBI single by Oliver Service sent the Rockers back to their hotel with the loss as they spoiled a strong start by Jake Toporek.
Glory ends campaign with victory over Kics
The Green Bay Glory ended their 2024 season with a 3-1 win over Chicago Kics Sunday afternoon. The Glory scored less than 10 minutes into the game and held onto the lead until the break. Maria Sorensen took advantage of a misplay in the box for the Glory's second goal in the 58th minute. The Kics would score a couple minutes later, but the Glory would stretch the lead back out to two when Mia Lemkuil headed home a cross in the 83rd minute to capture the victory.
