By now it's no surprise that Auburn has put itself in rarified air on the recruiting trail for 2025, and on Tuesday Malik Autry, the number 29 overall player in the 2025 class and number 3 player in the state of Alabama (according to 247) had some things to say.

The first question for Autry was about what it's like being an older guy on his high school squad. "Treat them the way you want to be treated," noting that soon he'll be in the same exact position as the new players on his current team at Opelika High School when he gets moved in to Auburn.

He went on to talk about his experience so far heading into his senior season, and said that he was working primarily on his pre-snap reads, picking up on cues from offensive linemen, and processing the game faster. His knack for learning technique and natural talent have earned him his lofty spot in the rankings, which makes it all the more impressive that Auburn has held onto Autry after a year and a half of many schools attempting to sway his commitment.

Addressing the recruiting class he's a headliner of, he discussed that he and the other 2025 Auburn commits have a group chat and talk often. He singled out some class of 2024 recruits that are working with him to recruit for the Tigers as well, namely Perry Thompson, Cam Coleman, and Bryce Cain. He also complimented Auburn's recruiting staff for their efforts.

Finally, he was asked who was the next guy he was looking to join the class, and Autry had an immediate answer: Deuce Knight. The consensus #4 QB prospect in the country has had significant pressure put on him by the whole of the Auburn recruiting staff and many players, and it appears to be paying dividends. He is still currently committed to Notre Dame, but recently national recruiting analysts have been projecting a flip for Knight.

Autry hopes to cement his position in this class with a dominant senior season before getting to work in orange and blue.
