Braves Look to Avoid Another Series Loss Against Rockies

The Atlanta Braves are on a bad slump. The team has lost six consecutive games for the second time this season after falling in the series opener against the Colorado Rockies 6-5 at Coors Field on Friday night.

Atlanta will look to one of their All Star pitchers to get them out of the recent funk and revive their playoff hopes.

Saturday, August 10th: Max Fried vs. Dakota Hudson

The Braves will go with Max Fried (7-6, 3.40 ERA) on the mound for the second game of the series at Coors Field. He will be making his second start since returning from the 15-day injured list, and like the rest of the Braves team, could also use a bounce back game on the mound. In his first start back against the Miami Marlins Fried allowed five runs on four hits across 3.1 innings of work. He struggled with command as he allowed five walks in the outing as well.

The team's pending free agent will look to get back on the right path similar to what we saw from him in the months of May and June where he pitched a sub-three ERA across the span.

The Rockies will go with Dakota Hudson (2-12, 5.84 ERA) against the Braves on Saturday. Hudson has not had a great season for the Rockies and was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque last month. He will make his first start with the club since July 3rd.
