Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers have been in a contract stalemate all offseason. Aiyuk reportedly rejected possible trades to the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots, while the Pittsburgh Steelers are also interested.

The Niners have made an improved offer to Aiyuk, who was one of their most important offensive players in 2023. At this point, it does appear that the wide receiver's options are limited.

Speaking on Sportscenter on Saturday, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler dropped a huge update on the Aiyuk situation.

    Via 49erswebzone.com:

"I'm told it's pretty much down to the Steelers and 49ers, him staying in San Francisco at this point," Fowler said on SportsCenter. "I was told around Thursday the 49ers intensified their efforts to try to re-sign him after some stagnant weeks where he was sitting around waiting to be traded, essentially."

Aiyuk reeled in 75 catches for 1,372 yards and seven touchdowns a year ago, playing a key part in San Francisco making the Super Bowl.

Insider Jordan Schultz also reported that Aiyuk and head coach Kyle Shanahan had a solid meeting on Friday. As things stand, it looks like he'll either stay put or be a Steeler.
