The Team USA men's basketball team went across the pond to Paris with one thing on their mind: obtaining a gold medal.

    Mission accomplished.

The Americans secured their fifth-straight gold medal on Saturday afternoon with a 98-87 victory over France in the Olympic final. It was Stephen Curry who dazzled once again, scoring 24 points and knocking down eight three-pointers, including four straight in the final couple of minutes to put the game away.

After all was said and done, LeBron James was named the MVP of the Olympics after averaging 14 points, 8 assists, and six rebounds for the tournament.

After the gold medal was awarded, former president Barack Obama took to social media to send his congratulations to Team USA for the victory.

It's a classy note from the former President, who showed throughout his eight years in office that he is a massive basketball fan, and a sports supporter through and through.
