Paige Bueckers' Perfect Two-Word Reaction to Team USA Winning Olympic Gold

    By Jack Winter,

Paige Bueckers is at least four years away from suiting up for Team USA in the Olympics. Considering Caitlin Clark was left off the roster for Paris, no one would be surprised if the UConn star also has to bide her time in the WNBA a bit longer before suiting up for her country, either.

No matter when Bueckers wears red, white and blue on the Olympic stage, though, it's safe to say Team USA's expectations will remain gold or bust.

Bueckers congratulated the United States on Sunday after they held off a tough challenge from host nation France to win the Olympic final 67-66, bringing home an eighth straight gold medal.

A rising senior, Bueckers re-established herself as one of the best players in college basketball last season after her sophomore campaign was marred by injury.

She averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.4 blocks per game in 2023-24, blazing nets to the tune of 53% shooting overall and 41.6% from beyond the arc.

Expect Bueckers and the Huskies to be back in the national title race this season after falling to Clark and Iowa in the Final Four a year ago.

Then it's on to the professional ranks for Bueckers, who figures to hear her name called at the very top of the 2025 WNBA draft before some day realizing her Olympic dreams.
