Eagles NFC East Rival Activates First-Round Tackle Off PUP List

The Philadelphia Eagles may have some concern over how their offensive line looks at this point in training camp due to a rash of injuries, but it could be worse!

They could be the New York Giants after all.

New York activated former seventh-overall pick Evan Neal off the PUP list Sunday morning after the right tackle continued to work through his ankle injury.

There's just one problem though with Neal.

He doesn't really have a set spot in the starting rotation anymore.

With Andrew Thomas manning the tackle position, and Jermaine Eluemunor projecting as the starting right tackle, the Giants are expected to place Neal in a backup role until he shows he can play at a high level.

There was always the chance the former Alabama product could move to guard, but with the signing of Greg Van Roten, that seems unlikely now.

It only further shows how badly the Giants missed on the Neal pick in the first place. For New York to need to go to free agency to solve their offensive line issues is a sign that they may be ready to move on from Neal altogether.

And at the very least it shows a further contrast between how the Eagles and Giants continue to operate on both levels.
