Three days after the Detroit Lions lost a couple of players to long-term injuries , the club has signed two new players.

The Lions signed linebacker Abraham Beauplan and offensive tackle Jamarco Jones on Sunday while waiving offensive linemen Connor Galvin with an injury designation and putting defensive lineman Nate Lynn on injured reserve.

Galvin suffered a knee injury in the first preseason game and was carted off the field. Lynn suffered a shoulder injury.

Head coach Dan Campbell also said the quarterback Hendon Hooker, who suffered a concussion in Thursday’s game, isn’t looking like he’ll be in practice this week and may not play next weekend against the Chiefs.

“Honestly, we don’t know where he’s gonna be,” Campbell said of Hooker.

Beauplan, 24, spent last preseason with the Minnesota Vikings before later joining their practice squad. He was waived late last month.

Jones, 28, is a former fifth-round pick who has spent brief stints with the Seahawks and Titans, playing sparingly.

The Lions are back in action next Saturday for their second preseason game, which will be in Kansas City.
