Chiefs Urged to Trade For Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb; Details of Deal

Marquise Brown clearly wants CeeDee Lamb to join the Kansas City Chiefs . And does - we think - the sports wagering website, FanDuel.

With Lamb still holding out of Dallas Cowboys training camp in a contract dispute, laughing at owner Jerry Jones and scrubbing his social media of anything "Cowboys," his former college roommate Brown changed his main Twitter photo to a shot of the two receivers back at Oklahoma. To which Lamb replied by doing the same thing.

    Uh-oh, indeed.

FanDuel has decided to join the speculation game, suggesting a trade that would bring Lamb to the Chiefs in exchange for two first-round draft picks and receiver Rashee Rice.

The headline of the social media post: "Who Says No?"

    For one, Chiefs fans.

“Chiefs say no. Lamb is an amazing player but they just won two Super Bowls without a WR like him. Why would they spend that draft capital and the money,” one commenter wrote .

The trade seems troublesome for both sides, actually.

The Cowboys drafted Lamb the first round in 2020 and he has paid dividends, coming off one of the best receiving seasons in franchise history. Born and bred to be a part of their long-awaited return to the Super Bowl, if the Cowboys don't sign him to a second contract than it's confusing exactly what their grand plan is.

Rice is a productive player with legit potential, but he's not in Lamb's class and he does have a load of legal troubles hanging over him from a multiple-car crash on a Dallas freeway last Spring. Besides, the Chiefs have won the last two Super Bowls and Patrick Mahomes is only 28. Their first-round draft choices aren't exactly going to be Top 10 picks.

As for the Chiefs, they've won two Super Bowls in the wake of Tyreek Hill. Brown is currently their highest-paid receiver at $7 million. Lamb is expecting to make in the neighborhood of $35 million.

Kansas City also just traded up in the draft to pick Texas speedy receiver Xavier Worthy, so mortgaging even more capital on a receiver might be questionable.

“Would be terrible for Dallas,” another fan said . “First round picks from the Chiefs are really like second round picks… the trade is not worth it.”

Jones said this week that there is "no urgency" to get a deal done with Lamb. Until he does so, there will be a rush to speculate where the All-Pro receiver will ultimately wind up.
