Sean McDermott Sends Warning to Bills Roster After Preseason Loss

The Buffalo Bills know that things didn't go remotely close to how they wanted it to in their preseason loss to the Chicago Bears.

What they didn't expect was dropping a 33-6 clunker to the same Bears team that struggled throughout the season.

Following the game, head coach Sean McDermott has made it very clear that the team's struggles over the weekend would not be tolerated for long.

“Our standard was not out there today,” McDermott said, via the team’s website. “That’s not how we play, so there is a lot we need to do to get ourselves ready to go here. . . . But we’ve got to learn from it. We have to be truthful about what we saw out there . . . Self-inflicted wounds are hard to overcome, and then you’ve got to play an opponent on the other side. So, give them credit. They played well.”

There is a positive spin to how the organization performed poorly in the team's preseason run over the weekend. To start, they still have a month before the beginning of the regular season.

On the other, the organization could use this loss as a stepping stone to show how far they have moved past the poor showing.

Whatever the case, the Bills have a lot to do over the next month.
