Broncos Star Makes His Opinion On Bo Nix Very Clear

Denver Broncos rookie Bo Nix appears to have gotten the approval of his team's top receiving threat.

With just weeks left before the start of the 2024 season, Nix is in the midst of a heated QB battle. Veteran Jarrett Stidham was placed ahead of the rookie in the Broncos' unofficial depth chart, which drew an interesting response from Nix .

But on Sunday, the 24-year-old alum let his play do the talking. Stidham got the start, but it was Nix who shined in Denver's 34-30 preseason win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Nix went 15-of-21 for 125 yards and a touchdown, netting him a solid passer rating of 102.3. He also got the respect of Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton.

“I think he handled it very well,” Sutton said of Nix's preseason debut, via Broncos.com reporter Aric DiLalla .

"[He] had a lot of poise, a lot of control. The moment wasn’t too big for him. The moments are only going to get bigger. The preseason games don’t count, but come Week One, whoever they decide to put out there as our starter, they’re going to have to handle that situation the best they possibly can.”

The Broncos selected Nix with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

Denver didn't draft a QB in the first round to have him sit for long behind a career backup like Stidham. The question becomes how long it would take Nix to overtake Stidham.

While the preseason isn't indicative of actual performance, the Oregon alum took a step in the right direction on Sunday.
