Knicks Preseason Calendar Update

Following an exciting 2024 playoffs and a more stimulating free agency, the New York Knicks fans have something else to look forward to on the NBA calendar: the 2024-25 preseason. Although none of the scheduled five preseason games invoke memories of the 2024 postseason run, most teams will allow a light warmup for the Villanova-Knicks core.

The Knicks will face the Charlotte Hornets on Oct 6. The Hornets didn't make the playoffs, but a mixture of continuity and Lonzo Bell's return from injury could make for a lightly competitive game. Even if it becomes a blowout, at least the Charlotte fans will see the Knicks at a bargain price.

The next game on the preseason schedule doesn't precisely amplify in thrills. While the Washington Wizards drafted Alexandre Sarr at No.2 in the 2024 NBA Draft, his preseason performance didn't exactly lead to an explosion of enthusiasm.

Nonetheless, at minimum, Knicks fans in Madison Square Garden can witness the Jordan Poole experiment in person.

Next on the Knicks' preseason docket is the first and only playoff-level competitor on their schedule. The Minnesota Timberwolves seek an NBA Finals berth following a Western Conference Finals appearance. First, though, they'll have to beat the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

New York fans will appreciate the showmanship of superstar Anthony Edwards, especially at a discount price, considering what an average ticket vs. Minnesota would cost.

The following two games are preseason rematches against the Hornets and Wizards as the softer matches transition into the 2024-25 regular season.
