With the official NBA schedule release for the 2024-25 season getting closer, leaks of some dates are already starting to surface.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania , the two regular-season NBA Finals rematches between the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics have been set. The two teams will first meet in Dallas at American Airlines Center on Jan. 25. Then, they'll meet again just a few weeks later at TD Garden on Feb. 6.

After battling their way through a tough Western Conference, the Mavs made it to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011. However, their lack of experience and offense led to them losing to the Celtics in just five games. Luka Doncic put forth his best effort despite being hobbled by a knee sprain, and Kyrie Irving faltered under the pressure of playing in front of a hostile Boston crowd.

Following that humble defeat, Mavs GM Nico Harrison wasted no time making the upgrades needed to give his team a better chance of defeating the Celtics if they meet again in next year's finals.

Dallas took advantage of Klay Thompson's deteriorating relationship with the Golden State Warriors front office and signed him to a three-year, $50 million contract. The Mavs also added Naji Marshall, Quentin Grimes, and Spencer Dinwiddie, which raises the team's offensive ceiling while retaining defensive versatility.

Did the Mavs do enough to close the gap between them and the Celtics? We'll have to wait until the new year to find out, but by that point, the Mavs should be a well-oiled machine after integrating their new pieces.
